Reiki Sessions
Our bodies hold our experiences, emotions, and patterns of tension, and within them lives messages and wisdom for healing.
I was trained in reiki through my grandmother, and Pat Venter through the Kurukulla Center in Medford, Massachusetts. Reiki sessions are an opportunity to find support, rest and connection to your body. Reiki is an Eastern practice that supports energy healing in the body, and is a hands-on healing art form that is gentle and non-invasive. Reiki is a wonderful compliment to other healing modalities, and a complement to psychotherapy. Mikao Usui developed Usui Reiki Ryoho, the most current form of Reiki, in 1922. However, people have practiced Reiki for about 2,500 years. It works with the body’s energy to support flow, grounding, and natural healing.
Some possible benefits:
Stress Reduction & Relaxation: Reiki helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, easing tension and promoting a state of calm; Physical Healing Support: While not a replacement for medical care, Reiki is used to support pain management; Nervous System Support: By working with the body's energy, Reiki can help support the central nervous system, which can be particularly beneficial for those navigating anxiety, burnout, or trauma recovery; Reconnection with Self: Reiki creates space for stillness, self-reflection, and a renewed sense of presence in your body
Individualized sessions take place in person on a massage table and are offered at $175/hr. I offer reiki in person in Cambridge, MA. At the beginning and end of the session, there will be a discussion about needs and the experience. Session length can vary depending on client preferences and can be offered as 90-minute or 2-hour.
